ATTENTION PLEASE... CALLING ALL PLAYWRIGHTS ************************************************** Are you a new playwright, and want to have your play produced? We have produced several on our stage at no cost to the playwright. Submit your original play to us for consideration. There is no charge for submission! If your play is selected, there will be no charge for producing it! We will be selecting original plays, skits, even simple musicals to be performed on our stage. There is no deadline for submission, but the sooner you submit, the better chance you have for us to produce it. If you wish to direct it, or perform in it also, provisions may be made for that. Family-oriented comedies will have the best chance of being selected. Fill out the form below and email it to us. There is no cost of submission. No royalties will be paid for the first night’s performance of the play, skit, or musical. However, additional performances may elicit royalties to be paid to you. Name of play:___________________________________________________________________ Author: ____________________________________________________________ Address: ___________________________________________________________ City, State, Zip: ______________________________________________________ Phone Number: _______________________________ Email address: ________________________________________________ (Please fill out all information above or submission may be disqualified.) Guidelines for play, skit, or musical submission: • Submissions may preferably be e-mailed (quacken@verizon.net), or sent by U.S. Mail to: Washington Stage Theatre, 111 Roosevelt St. La Porte, IN 46360. Include this form as the cover sheet. • Length of play or musical should be at least 60 minutes, and probably should not exceed 90 min. Skits may be 8 to 59 minutes, and will be assembled with other skits to form a full evenings performance. • Cast of 2-8 people is preferred, but, we have had as many as 15. The stage is 20 feet wide and 15 feet deep. • Technical requirements should be VERY MINIMAL (including: lighting, sound, set design and construction, and costumes). Anything requiring major set construction, many sets or scene changes, or extensive costuming will probably not be accepted. • Musicals will be accepted, but must include a score and/ or CD of all music. All music must be copy written by the author (or have songwriters permission in writing) and submission includes permission to perform the music during this performance. • If your original play, skit, or musical is chosen, you are authorizing Washington Stage Theatre the rights to produce it on our stage in La Porte, IN only. No royalties will be paid for the first night’s performance, however, additional performances will elicit royalties, and a two- night run is normal (Friday and Saturday). The author will retain all copyrights, unless extensive changes are required. Washington Stage Theatre will be responsible for the production and direction of the selected show.
